From Engineering and Research to Public Service
Dr Domor Mienye holds a PhD in Artificial Intelligence from the University of Johannesburg and engineering degrees from the University of East London. He has held senior professional roles at Izwe Africa Group, Amplifi Capital in London and a non-governmental organisation (NGO), alongside postdoctoral research appointments at the University of Johannesburg and the University of South Africa.
His research contributions include more than 50 peer-reviewed publications, with recognition among the Stanford University and Elsevier Top 2% Scientists in 2024 and 2025. He is a Senior Member of IEEE, a COREN-registered engineer and a member of the Nigerian Society of Engineers.

Dr Mienye advocates for public institutions that are accountable, competent and capable of improving everyday life. His particular interests include industrialisation, employment, poverty reduction, public finance, education and the use of evidence in government decision-making.
For Bayelsa, he has consistently raised questions about the state's dependence on crude oil revenue, the limited industrial base, the need to strengthen riverine communities and the importance of developing Yenagoa into a modern, functional state capital.
